This modern postcard features a photograph of a New York City subway car on the IRT Number 2 line. The image is an interior shot of the car which is covered in graffiti. A black girl looks at the photographer while a young man in the background has the door between the subways cars open.
Luckily the NYC subways no longer look like this, but the postcard captures the feel of what it was like back in the days where graffiti was a huge problem.
The original image was taken by photographer Danny Lyon in 1980.
