Marilyn Monroe Poster

Philippe Halsman Photographer

This modern poster features one of the most famous photos of actress Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn stands in a corner in a strapless white dress, her eyes half open, her lips parted.

The original image was taken by master photographer Philippe Halsman in the spring of 1952. It was one of 40 or 50 images Halsman took on an assignment for Life Magazine. This most famous image from the series appeared on the cover of the April 7, 1952 issue of the magazine.

Halsman later remarked the Marilyn looked "as if she had been pushed into the corner, cornered with no way to escape."

The poster is expertly printed on fine quality heavy paper. It should not be confused with cheaper poster prints of the same image.

If you plan on throwing the poster up in a dorm room with some masking tape, you can probably save yourself some money and buy a cheaper copy. If you plan to frame your poster and display it properly you want the best possible print and this would be it. The poster is actually too heavy to display other than in a frame.
