This modern reproduction postcard features a great photograph a giant woman in an elaborate costume standing next to a man.
The young girl, who was billed as "Marian, the giant Amazon Queen", became a popular attraction in London in 1882. She was born on the 31st January, 1866, at Benkendorf, a village near the Thuringia Mountains, Germany. Though barely eighteen she attained the remarkable height of 8 feet 2 inches (2.49 m) and was still growing.
The original image, titled "Marian, The Amazon Queen" was taken in 1882.
