The Road to Ebiram
"One day as I roamed the village, I met this young woman as she traveled from house to house offering her skills as a seamstress. Perhaps she learned this skill from her mother or perhaps she was a graduate of the seamstress school located adjacent to the highway taxi stand, I did not inquire... Her ability to carry the machine on her head on the other hand, is a skill ingrained in every village child from an early age."
Richard Geist, Peace Corp, Ghana, 1987 to 1989.
